SIM Mission Statement

At Dorothy Simon Elementary School, we believe that children are the hope and future of our world; therefore, our primary function is to educate the whole child for a successful future. Dorothy Simon Elementary School serves the district’s earliest learners, with an Early Childhood and Pre-Kindergarten program, as well as full-day Kindergarten, and grades 1 and 2. 

We believe that students and staff thrive intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally in a safe, clean, structured, and nurturing environment. As such, we focus on creating an environment that is warm and welcoming. We believe that all individuals deserve respect, are responsible for their own actions, and have the opportunity to learn and grow from their experiences.

Here at Simon, we call ourselves the Simon Superheroes, and we start each day with a reminder of our Superhero Pledge:

I promise to only use my superpowers for good
And to help other people.
I promise to be kind to my fellow superhero
friends, family, and teachers.
I promise to use my super-hearing to 
listen to others and never interrupt,
I promise to use my superpower of patience
To help me wait for my turn. 
I promise to do my best to keep these promises
And be the BEST superhero that I can be!!!
